THE UGLY DUCKLING
I am reading a One-Act play called the Ugly Duckling it’s
about a King and Queen who want to get there daughter Princess Camilla married.
Her conflict is that she is ugly to everyone one else but not really. When she
was younger her Godmother put a blessing on her that she would be humble and
instead the blessing turned into a curse to where her beauty became bliss and
everyone become ignorant to her beauty.
The King and Queen get suitors to get princess Camilla
married off, all of the suitors obviously turn her down because she was ugly
and they were all ignorant to her real beauty. This story really tells a story of
what it means to be humble and show that all your beauty is on the inside. It’s
a comedic fairy tale and throughout the writing the author uses his sentence
fluency. A.A. Mline tells a goofy and children’s theatre style of writing
showing all the aspects of what it is to be humble and to have a good heart.
Most people don’t understand what it means to be humble, and in a broader
picture he uses color words and imagery to express a simple idea of what it is
to be a good person, and to have a good heart.
I have really enjoyed reading this story and being able to
see different sides of this character (Camilla) and sees that even though she
is not pretty on the outside she is beautiful and humble on the inside.
