Reading Response (EXTRA)

How to get Away with Murder.

When reading this script I have enjoyed the most is show different of a read it is you can see the amount of detail the writer put into this book and yes because of the fact its a  television show. But, also because it shows the value they have put in the show. The writing fluency really show throughout the story and they keep it fresh and up to date. The kids in the class all share a common goal to be like Mrs. Keating. Also, the writer use an imagery technique to flash forward through time and show the kids struggling through covering up the murder. The guy they have killed is actually Mrs. Keating's husband.

This really sets the stage within the first few scenes. I was really excited to see the way it was scripted so differently from the show. It shows things that were not even in scenes such as wording, some characters words are changed from the script, based on the character. This is a good read and also good to watch that way you see if your imagery, matches the on screen image. I've really enjoyed watching and seeing this story unfold and come to life.

Quote: "I defend what's just and what abides to the law." I chose this quote because it was a very important line in the script, because it gave a really jaw dropping exit. Mrs. Keating was giving a very important line by saying that she chooses a to defend those to provide a just and abide by the criminal law.

How to get Away with Murder

The script for this show I really enjoy because, its captivating and has very good story line incorporating all the characters strengths and weaknesses. What I read recently the story line has continued to unfold with the teacher Mrs.Keating she is still sleeping around with the cop, and now the other main character Wesley is getting into trouble. His friend is in prison for accusation of murder and she says she didn't do it. Wesley tries to get her out buy going undercover as a DA to get down to what really happened but she tells and gets him in trouble. This then gets Wesley angry, but he still wants to help her. Wesley then asks Mrs. Keating. for assistance and she agrees to help. But before they get to the pre-sync Amanda has already told the prosecutor everything. The quote I picked was "Doesn't look like this case will take that long, your client just confessed." I chose this because it gave a piece of the dramatics within the script; also it expressed a very key piece to how Mrs. Keating will handle this case now. How will she solve it?

Reading Response

How to get Away with Murder

I have been reading a script from the television show “How to get away With Murder”. This story is about a teacher for the University of Middleton, teaching Criminal Law, her name is Annalise Keating. She teaches her students real-life events and what happens in a court room. The students work on the cases with her and each year she pick four students to come and join her law firm, but this year she added an extra student; one of the main characters Wesley Gibbins. He is not the brightest student in class but he overall tries and she sees a great effort in him so she gives him a chance. The story flashes back and forth from the future 5 months ahead. In the future they show the 5 kids that she picked to be on her firm are in trouble and have killed someone and are trying to get rid of the body. Soon to find out the person that her students have killed is Annalise’s husband. The quote I have chosen is “Do you really know who anyone really is”.  This quote really stood out to me because it gave a piece of advice but also gave the reader something to think about. I have really enjoyed reading a watching this story unfold. I’m excited to see how it will conclude.
